  • The 5th Annual United Way Food Truck Frenzy presented by First Mid Bank and Trust will be held at Fairview Park on April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until trucks sell out—nine food trucks will offer a variety of meals and fun activities for children while part of the proceeds will benefit United Way of Decatur and Mid Illinois.  Now Decatur

  • The Macon County Conservation District and Decatur Area Audubon Society will host the 44th Annual Festival of Spring on April 26 from 12–4pm to celebrate Earth Day.   • Congresswoman Budzinski announced on March 24 that the 2025 Congressional Art Competition is open to high school students in her district. HEALTH NEWS

  • Dana Deshon, a pediatric nurse practitioner at OSF Healthcare, said vaccinations are vital to stop a measles outbreak that has reached 378 cases nationwide; she noted that the virus spreads before symptoms appear and that people who are pregnant, very young or immune-compromised are at greater risk. Deshon added that one vaccine dose is 93% effective and two doses are 97% effective (she urged everyone unsure of their vaccination status to talk with their doctor).  WAND
