- ➤ Dana Deshon, a pediatric nurse practitioner at OSF Healthcare, said vaccinations are vital to stop a measles outbreak that has reached 378 cases nationwide; she noted that the virus spreads before symptoms appear and that people who are pregnant, very young or immune-compromised are at greater risk. Deshon added that one vaccine dose is 93% effective and two doses are 97% effective (she urged everyone unsure of their vaccination status to talk with their doctor). WAND
