  • Veterans Recognition of Central Illinois will hold its annual event on March 29th at the Decatur Civic Center from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.—the event features era music, food, displays, veteran service groups and a keynote speech by Marjorie Billker Graves with a group photo.  Now Decatur

  • Robert W. Butcher, a 65-year-old driver from Pleasant Plains, was arrested on March 24 for leaving the scene of a fatal crash on Interstate 72 that killed New Berlin woman Maysa Davis—state police say his arrest follows an ongoing investigation.  Fox Illinois
  • After a Decatur woman voted twice in the November election and had her charges dropped after entering a diversion program, Macon County officials will re-emphasize the need to check voter lists—hoping to prevent future double voting.  Herald & Review

  • Yesterday, the Central IL Land Bank Authority completed three gut rehabs at 1276 W Marietta, 1570 W Forest, and 2198 E Hendrix in Decatur as part of its Abandonment to Rehab program to expand affordable homeownership opportunities for local residents. Open houses for 1276 W Marietta and 1570 W Forest will be held this Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.—an open house for 2198 E Hendrix is planned in April.  Now Decatur

  • Heritage Behavioral Health Center will host its third annual Gallery of Hope on April 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Rock Springs Nature Center in Decatur, featuring hundreds of artworks by local youth that highlight mental health—interactive activities, self-care stations and refreshments will be offered with free admission, and the display stays open until May 1.  Now Decatur
