- ➤ The Decatur Park District will host the 2025 Senior Olympic style Games from April 28 through May 2 at several locations in Decatur. Adults aged 50 to 99 will compete in events (including mini golf, table tennis, pickleball, basketball, bowling, and golf) with a $10 fee per event, and the games will conclude with a closing ceremony on May 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Scovill Park West Activity Center. - ➤ United Way of Decatur and Mid Illinois will host a trivia night on Saturday, April 19th at The Hall at Five-Twenty in Decatur. Sign-ups start at 5:30 p.m.—teams of up to eight players join for a $25 entry fee with options for an All-In Pack and extra beads and tickets, and all proceeds benefit United Way locally. Now Decatur

- ➤ On March 24 at around 9 a.m. Decatur Police asked for public help in finding a suspect after a parked red Jeep Cherokee was robbed near Macon and Monroe Streets — surveillance footage shows the suspect is a Black male of average build wearing a gray jacket over a bright yellow shirt and dark pants. - ➤ Mt. Zion High School and the police warned parents and students about the Senior Assassin game — which uses the Splashin app to have players 'stalk' and shoot each other with water guns for a prize — and stressed the game must not be played on school property or during school hours as it could lead to safety risks and calls to 911. - ➤ Decatur police will increase ticketing for distracted driving during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month — drivers caught using their phones behind the wheel may face fines as part of a coordinated effort with more than 200 agencies to enhance road safety. Herald & Review

- ➤ The Midwest Toy and Comic Fest will be held at the Decatur Civic Center on April 12—13 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. The event will feature over 100 vendor booths, video game and costume contests with door prizes, a silent charity auction benefiting Dove Inc, free admission for children on Family Day and special guests including actor Don Gibb and voice actor Ryan Drummond.
