ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials announced Monday that County Highway 24—also known as Reas Bridge Road—near Lake Decatur was closed due to a sinkhole at a bridge and it was expected to reopen later Monday. WCIA
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Illinois gas prices fell 8.4 cents per gallon over the past week—averaging $3.39 from a GasBuddy survey of 4,378 stations. They remain 15.6 cents above last month’s average—yet 57.3 cents below the same time last year. ABC 20
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Decatur city officials announced a prescribed burn will take place in a city-owned natural area between Lake Shore Drive and the water’s edge south of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive during the week of April 14—April 18, with the southern lane of eastbound Lake Shore Drive closed for about 20—30 minutes. The burn, conducted by trained professionals, is planned to reduce invasive species and promote native plant growth while safety measures keep smoke effects to a minimum. ABC 20
