- ➤ Macon Co. CASA is hosting several events during April Child Abuse Prevention Month—live panel on April 22nd, cookie delivery on April 24-25, and movie showings on April 27th—to raise awareness about child abuse as it currently serves 600 children. The organization will start a training course on May 1st to recruit advocates as it expands into Christian and Moultrie counties to serve nearly 800 children. WAND
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Decatur resident Herman Jones, 34, was fatally shot on April 12 at the intersection of Church and Leafland Street—Decatur police said the investigation is ongoing. Fox Illinois
- ➤ Macon County Coroner Michael D. Burkham confirmed that the body found on April 13 in a barn on Ridge Road was identified as Decatur resident Stephanie Krohn — 55 — and authorities are investigating her death. ABC 20
