  • United Way of Decatur and Mid Illinois is hosting Trivia Night, presented by Design-Air Heating & A/C, tomorrow at The Hall at Five-Twenty in Decatur. Sign-ups begin at 5:30 p.m. and participants pay a $25 entry fee with options for extra games that benefit the local United Way.  Now Decatur

CRIME NEWS

  • Three Decatur residents were arrested early Tuesday by the Taylorville Police Department's Community Action Team—charges include possession with intent to deliver and delivery of methamphetamine for amounts between 15 and 100 grams.  ABC 20
  • A Decatur woman mourned her mother, 55-year-old Stephanie Krohn, whose body was found strangled and set on fire in rural Macon County on April 13—after making several calls on Sunday morning, she received the only call from police that confirmed her death.  WAND

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Millikin University and Illinois Central College reached an agreement on April 17 that takes effect for the 2025-26 academic year; eligible ICC graduates with an associate degree and a 2.0 GPA will be automatically accepted into a Millikin bachelor's program (allowing many to finish their degree in only two years with full‑time enrollment).  Now Decatur
