  • Bruce Nims was honored yesterday with the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award for Outstanding Senior Volunteer in Region 4 — he is one of 16 winners chosen from more than 60 nominations. He led a board governance training program for over 12 years that inspired many to serve on local boards — his long-time service was recognized by the state.  Now Decatur

  • At the annual State of the Community luncheon on April 24 at the Mount Zion Convention Center, local leaders including Decatur Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe discussed new businesses, infrastructure projects and community growth in Decatur, Forsyth, Mount Zion and Macon.   • On April 23, Macon County Clerk Josh Tanner announced he will not run for a third term in the 2026 General Primary. He began his work in Macon County as a GIS Specialist in 2008 and was elected clerk in 2018.  Decatur Tribune
