- ➤ Police said a Decatur man reported that he was beaten and robbed on Saturday evening when a masked gunman attacked him near the 1400 block of E. Hickory Street—he said the suspect hit him with a handgun, knocked him down, and then kicked him while taking his cell phone. Herald & Review
- ➤ Police booked a man on an attempted murder charge after he was shot during a stand-off on May 3 at the P&V Quick Stop gas station near Macon—officers said he was involved in the confrontation. Herald & Review

- ➤ Former Decatur Police Chief Shane Brandel retired after 28 years on Friday and reflected on his service and commitment to officer support (he recalled both the highs and lows of the job). Deputy Chief Brad Allen (a 27-year veteran) will now lead the department as Brandel takes time off to focus on family. WCIA
