  • On May 18, Dustin Bradshaw, manager of Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater, joined co-hosts Michael Breheny and Evan Hall on a podcast to discuss the venue's opening this weekend in the Devon area.  Now Decatur
  • The Officer Chris Oberheim Baseball Memorial Tournament will be held in Forsyth from June 5 to 7 to honor the late officer's legacy with youth baseball, memorial ceremonies and a first responder parade supporting police survivors. The event is organized by his niece Kelsey Washburn and her husband Wyatt Washburn.  Now Decatur
  • The City of Decatur rescheduled its free touch-a-truck equipment show due to bad weather; it will be held from 4-6 p.m. Monday, June 1, in front of the Decatur Civic Center + visitors can explore city vehicles like the grapple truck and tree truck.  WAND

  • A wind turbine caught fire in rural Macon County near Warrensburg on Sunday at 8:40 p.m.—fire crews stayed until 11:30 p.m. and no injuries were reported.  WAND

  • Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe joined Byers & Co on May 18 to discuss Fuyao Glass’s planned expansion and broader economic development in Decatur while gathering community feedback.  Now Decatur

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bryan Kenney, a Decatur native and St. Teresa alumnus, is set to serve as assistant principal and athletic director for the 2026–2027 school year. He brings extensive experience from his roles at Holy Family School and from coaching at St. Teresa.  Now Decatur

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • TCCI Manufacturing updated the City Council Monday night on its $45M Clean Energy Innovation Hub at its Decatur facility, noting its public-private partnership and fully functioning EV compressor line along with a workforce academy opened in March (a hiring event is set from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4).  WAND

  • The History of the Heartland hosts its sixth Living Legends event on May 21 in downtown Decatur at Doherty’s back room — honoring St. Teresa football history — featuring players and coaches moderated by Aric Lee. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m.  Now Decatur
  • The Decatur Community Tennis Foundation is hosting volunteer ball runner training for the Illinois Women’s Pro Tennis Championships at the Fairview Tennis Center on Sunday, May 31 from 1 to 2 p.m. Youth ages 12 and older must be available to serve during tournament play (June 13-14).  Now Decatur
