- ➤ On May 3, Decatur Park officer and Macon County troopers shot suspect Oscar M. McCurry after he allegedly stole a squad car, wielded a machete, and pointed a shotgun at them—he received medical treatment, was booked into jail, and later arraigned on charges while the state's attorney ruled the force justified. - ➤ Decatur Police Department Chief Brad Allen said that as warmer weather brings a rise in crime this summer, his department will use its Community Action Team plus enforce a curfew from Sunday through Thursday at 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and from Friday to Saturday at 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. to reduce gun violence and teen offenses.
