- ➤ Superintendent Rochelle Clark said that a two-year crackdown on student discipline in Decatur Public Schools—featuring increased expulsions for violence—has reduced incidents. Herald & Review

- ➤ At its June 17 meeting, the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Madden Room at the public library on North Franklin Street where acting director Lacie Elzy will discuss Decatur’s new micro-transit and bus route rescheduling from 6 to 6:30 p.m.—citizens are encouraged to bring neighborhood ideas. - ➤ The Illinois Legislature passed a bill that bans the use of AI therapy bots and only allows AI transcriptions when a patient consents. If the governor signs it, the new law will require human-led therapy sessions and make Illinois the first state to implement such a measure. WCIA
- ➤ The Illinois Department of Transportation announced its annual photo contest on June 11th and is inviting the public to submit original photos that show transportation connecting communities until June 20th. The contest (IDOT Photo Contest) will select three finalists based on creativity and impact, and winners (who will have their photo featured online) will receive a certificate of recognition.
