- ➤ Local supporters are holding the Big Daddy Open at the Country Club of Decatur to help fifth-grader Charlie Spurlock, who was badly hurt in a sled accident on Jan. 5 that also claimed the life of his classmate Jack Brinkoetter; the event includes lunch, a golf outing, a pool party, dinner and a live auction with proceeds going to his ongoing medical care + organizers invite everyone to join by registering or sponsoring. - ➤ On Saturday, June 14, demonstrators gathered along North Franklin and East Eldorado streets in downtown Decatur as part of the national 'No Kings' protest movement — they voiced their criticism of traditional roles and called for change. Herald & Review

- ➤ One Decatur man died and two others were admitted to hospital after a two-vehicle crash that occurred just after 3 p.m. Friday near the intersection of W Rock Springs Road and Westgate Drive—police said there were no signs of drugs or alcohol and the crash remains under investigation. WAND
- ➤ On June 13th at 3:11 p.m., Decatur Police responded to a crash at the intersection of W Rock Springs Road and Westgate Drive when a red 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by a 68-year-old resident turned right into the path of a tan Chevrolet 1500 driven by an 18-year-old with a juvenile passenger—the older driver suffered serious injuries, died shortly after hospital treatment, and investigators continue to probe the incident.
