CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Michael Evans pleaded guilty on May 8 to unlawful use of a weapon and violating state concealed carry laws after showing a gun and making threats at Argenta-Oreana Elementary School, and he was sentenced to 24 months of probation, 30 days in jail with 30 days already served, plus he must undergo a mental health evaluation and avoid the school property. - ➤ Michael Evans, a Decatur man, was sentenced to two years probation for threatening school officials at Argenta Oreana School District with a firearm — he must also complete a mental health evaluation and treatment as part of his special conditions. Fox Illinois
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A bill on Gov. JB Pritzker's desk will require paid break time for nursing mothers so they do not have to use their leave—House members voted 82-27 and the Senate voted 50-3 in support of the proposal. Its approval will give nursing mothers more time to pump breastmilk without extra cost. WAND
