ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Rail crossing and pedestrian fatalities increased in Illinois as of July 1 with 102 collisions, 20 deaths and 53 injuries reported — officials warn drivers to use blue emergency signs if stuck on the track. WAND
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Decatur City Council approved a human trafficking task force composed of the police department, McLean County Sheriff’s Office, and State Police — set to begin around Aug 1 — to work on identifying and stopping cases of trafficking. WCIA
- ➤ Decatur police arrested nine people for impaired driving during the Fourth of July safety campaigns from June 20 to July 7 — officers also issued three seat belt citations as part of a statewide effort to remove impaired drivers from the roads. Fox Illinois

- ➤ State Representative Brad Halbrook said that 19 libraries in the 107th District have been awarded Public Library Per Capita Grants totaling over $109,000 — funds that will help them meet Illinois library standards.
