- ➤ Heartland CASA announced its 2025 Playhouse Raffle fundraiser on July 16 and is offering a custom-built Backyard Oasis garden shed along with other prizes to support child advocacy in Central Illinois. Tickets cost $5 for a single, $20 for five or $100 for forty and prize drawings will occur on July 26, August 7 and August 18 — proceeds support services for over 800 foster children in nearby counties. - ➤ The Macon County Conservation Foundation invites cyclists to join the annual Prairie Pedal bike ride on Sunday, September 28 at Rock Springs Conservation Area to support natural areas and wildlife. Riders can choose from 20-, 40-, or 62-mile routes and finish by 1 p.m.—early bird registration ends August 31 at $35 per rider, with fees rising to $40 later. Fox Illinois
