- ➤ Wayne Dunning is celebrating his BASIC Basketball Camp’s 25th anniversary this summer as it hosts a two-week camp for about 150 young athletes who learn basketball skills & life lessons through community service and guest speakers. - ➤ Decatur Public Schools updated its odor policy so that anyone who smells like marijuana must change clothes or leave campus—community members posted over 500 comments and 1,200 reactions on Facebook, with some calling the rule unfair and others supporting it. Fox Illinois

- ➤ The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that applications are open for the Safe Routes to School program, which offers up to $12 million in federal funds with awards capped at $250,000 for projects that improve sidewalks, bicycle lanes and overall safety near schools – local school districts, governments and nonprofits must submit proposals by October 13.
