- ➤ State Senator Doris Turner said House Bill 1865 stops insurance companies from asking nursing home residents or people over 65 to change or buy new insurance without first waiting 48 hours and having a choice—this law also stops long-term care facilities from moving residents with reduced decision-making ability without guardian approval and will take effect Jan. 1.
