ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday at 7:02 p.m., Decatur Fire Department responded to a house fire at 642 S. Jackson Street where firefighters rescued 3-year-old Davian Cash Baker, who died despite rescue efforts—fire and police officials are investigating the cause. Fox Illinois
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Decatur police responded at about 11:49 p.m. Monday to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of North Church Street—finding a 54-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds who was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital and later died. Herald & Review
- ➤ Decatur police were called to 16th and Lawrence Monday night—finding a 20-year-old man shot in his right leg who was taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok, and no arrest has been made. WAND
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fourth graders at Muffley School learned about dairy science when they tried to make homemade ice cream — a plan linked to the Farm Progress Show — but ended up enjoying milkshakes after salt was accidentally left out.
