  • Yesterday, Tony Piraino and Brittany Lamb of the Brinkoetter Key Team spoke with Byers & Co about their Supermarket Sweep event for the WSOY Community Food Drive — Tony also took part in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Hampton Inn.  Now Decatur
  • Scott Broyles joined Byers & Co on September 4th to discuss the Operation Obstacle event at Richland Community College that supported veterans & featured a special Cars & Coffee event.  Now Decatur
  • Debbie Bogle of the United Way joined Byers & Co on September 4 to discuss how Brinkoetter and Caterpillar employees helped the community during the WSOY Community Food Drive—she also explained opportunities to support the United Way campaign and ALICE families.  Now Decatur

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A three-year-old boy named Davian Cash Baker died in a Decatur house fire on the 600 block of South Jackson Street Saturday night—fire officials say the cause is under investigation.  Decatur Radio

  • On September 4, 2025, Tucker Kennedy of Ameren spoke on Byers & Co about factors that drove higher power bills, noting that rising fuel and grid costs contributed to the increase.  Now Decatur

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Children's Museum of Illinois is partnering with Millikin University to bring back ChemGirls and launch ChemKids, programs that let kids in grades five through eight explore chemistry with fun experiments. ChemGirls will be held on October 18th at Millikin University — ChemKids will be held on September 20th at the museum and October 18th at Millikin, with sessions costing $10 including lunch and swag and scholarships available by calling Melanie at 217-423-5437.  Now Decatur
