- ➤ The Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations will hold its final regular meeting of 2025 on November 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the Staley Room at the Decatur Public Library (130 North Franklin Street) where residents can also learn about upcoming December business meetings, elections, and a Christmas party for members. - ➤ On November 12th, Macon Resources asked local businesses and individuals to join its Secret Santa program to gift over 80 people with developmental disabilities living in group homes and independently—participants may buy gifts with at least a $50 spend per person or donate funds to have gifts purchased on their behalf. - ➤ The Salvation Army opened its Cold Cot program yesterday to add extra cots at the men’s shelter and help men avoid dangerous cold weather — the men check in at 5:00 p.m. for a meal and hot shower. - ➤ Operation Enduring Support is collecting donations at Grace Methodist Church in Decatur to send care packages with snacks, hygiene supplies and holiday items to U.S. service members overseas. - ➤ On Tuesday, November 11, the Decatur Fire Department responded to a building fire at 1702 East Clay Street (at approximately 12:19 p.m.) and quickly contained the blaze (with no injuries reported) through coordinated efforts. ABC 20

- ➤ The Illinois Department of Public Health warned parents today to stop using ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula after two Illinois infants and at least 15 cases across 12 states were linked to botulism.
