- ➤ Gov. JB Pritzker signed a law Tuesday that makes Illinois the first state to issue its own vaccine recommendations without CDC guidance. The law expands the Illinois Department of Public Health’s authority to provide evidence-based guidance during outbreaks— it will also mandate that insurers cover recommended vaccines for free starting Jan 1 and lower the immunization age to three.
