- ➤ On Saturday, fire crews responded at 4:30 p.m. to a blaze that damaged two two-story homes near the intersection of W. North Street and N. - ➤ On April 6, History of the Heartland offered a $500 Doug Hagen Memorial Scholarship to MacArthur High School seniors who participated in student government and planned to attend college, with preference given to students with military ties. The scholarship honors Loren Doug Hagen—a former student council president killed in Vietnam and awarded the Medal of Honor—and is managed by the Decatur Public Schools Foundation. Now Decatur
